The vintage sweatshirt is a staple in my curated closet. It’s a layer of warmth and comfort my body loves after an intense workout. Mine is a tricolour vintage Fila sweater circa 90’s that I found on Beyond Retro and that I wear with a short and top set by Lacausa and Stepney’s trainers in these pictures.
It has a soft, fluffy, lining inside and I love the sensation of cosiness against my skin when I’m walking back from the gym. The vintage sweatshirt is also a piece you can easily dress up or down, depending on the occasion. I sometimes pair mine with a mini skirt or straight leg denim jeans to run errands during weekends in London. It’s also one of my favourite pieces to throw on to simply hang around the house without looking like I haven’t made any effort.
Vintage sweatshirts and jumpers are very easy to find in great condition secondhand. There are a lot of different options depending on which brand you go for and some of them look like they’ve never been worn. To help you find yours, I combed through listings in various resale website and vintage stores and selected a few I liked. My selection is small and close to my personal style. However, it isn’t representative of the amount of choice available at all.
